BLAQUE Table Talks are a space for community and growth through open discourse. With the common goal of seeing Black people thrive and prosper, we explore challenging topics related to the wellbeing of the Black community, celebrating the diversity of perspectives that exist among us and leveraging them to direct us towards what is true and most life-giving for us and our communities. All that is asked of you is that you bring your own perspective to the proverbial table.

We recognize that the healing of the whole is predicated on the healing of the one.

In November of 2022 a group of people gathered in Harlem to break bread and share our incredibly diverse perspectives about one thing we all deeply cared about; what it would take to finally see Black people locally and globally thrive. This is when BLAQUE Table Talks were born. Every month since then, we'd meet, we'd talk, we'd learn, we'd grow and we'd become more eager to be the change we wanted to see in our communities. As we aimed to pinpoint the issue at the core of our people, a people group from the most poverty stricken continent on earth, a people group subject to centuries of genocide and living in the consequences of generational trauma all over the globe, during our BLAQUE Table Talks we identified that while our circumstances are consequences of atrocities carried out by many, the solution and healing we seek will not be fully realized through the atonement of our transgressors, but will also require our wholehearted participation in our own restoration. The healing of the whole, begins with the healing of the one. We recognized that the full and deep healing of one person goes above human efforts and that ultimately, only God can begin and complete a transformative, inside-out healing within us.

A note from our founder:

We are building this community around the healing and wholeness of "the one". I believe that kind of healing can only come from being united with God, the source of all life, through Jesus Christ. Our goal is to build this community at the local level, in NYC, and digitally, wherever our members end up being in the world, to heal, to thrive and to step into the good work and abundant life we were individually and collectively created for.

My hope is to cultivate a community of Black people learning to be loved by God through Jesus. No matter where you are in your faith journey, or in your beliefs, know that you are deserving of living a life of wholeness and abundance and we welcome you to pull up a chair at this table.

We are building this community at the local level, in NYC with the intention to expand digitally, wherever our members end up being in the world. Our goal is to bring together the Black diaspora, descendants from Africa, to heal, to thrive and to step into the good work and abundant life we were individually and collectively created for. If we can help change one person’s life, we can help change many. The BLAQUE Movement starts with the one, it starts with you, it starts with us.
